Accords : A B G D

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of shit
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stains of time
The feelings disappear
You are someone else
I am still right here

What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end

You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way

Superbe.

“I Hung My Head” est une chanson écrite par Sting en 1996. Il écrit cette chanson pour se souvenir de son enfance, quand il était fan des films de western qui passaient à la télévision.

En 2002, Johnny Cash reprend cette chanson sur l’album American IV: The Man Comes Around.

La chanson raconte l’histoire d’un jeune homme qui tue quelqu’un par accident, avec les émotions qu’il ressent et les conséquences que son acte va entraîner.

Voici comment la jouer à la guitare :

Intro - C, F handful of times

[C]Early one morning
With [F]time to kill
I [Am]borrowed Jeb's rifle
And [F]sat on the hill

I [C]saw a lone rider
[F]Crossing the plain
I [Am]drew a bead on him
To [F]practice my aim

[Dm]My brother's rifle
Went [G]off in my hand
A shot rang out
[C]Across the land

The [F]horse he kept running
The [Am]rider was dead
I [C]hung my head I [F]hung my head
[C]
[C]I set off running
To [F]wake from the dream
[Am]My brother's rifle
Went [F]into the stream
[C]I kept on running
[F]Into the salt lands
And [Am]that's where they found me
My [F]head in my hands
The [Dm]sheriff he asked me
[G]Why had I run
Then it came to me
Just [C]what I had done
And [F]all for no reason
Just [Am]one piece of lead
I [C]hung my head I [F]hung my head
[C]

[C]Here in the courthouse
The [F]whole town is there
[Am]I see the judge
High [F]up in his chair
"Ex[C]plain to the courtroom
What [F]went through your mind
And [Am]we'll ask the jury
What [F]verdict they find"
I said [Dm]"I felt the power
Of [G]death over life
I orphaned his children
I [C]widowed his wife
I [F]beg their forgiveness
I [Am]wish I was dead"
I [C]hung my head, I [F]hung my head
I [C]hung my head, I [F]hung my head
[C]

[C]Early one morning
With [F]time to kill
[Am]I see the gallows
[F]Up on the hill
And [C]out in the distance
A [F]trick of the brain
I [Am]see a lone rider
[F]Crossing the plain
[Dm]And he's come to fetch me
To [G]see what they done
We'll ride together
[C]'Til kingdom come
I [F]pray for God's mercy
For [F]soon I'll be dead
I [C]hung my head, I [F]hung my head
I [C]hung my head, I [F]hung my head
I [C]hung my head, I [F]hung my head

Great music and such a weird music video from MGMT, an American psychedelic rock band founded by Benjamin Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden :

C’est super facile à jouer à la guitare, il faut juste maitriser l’enchaînement un peu syncopé des accords.

Par contre, les paroles ahem… c’est légèrement Bowling for Columbine!

Chords: Am - C - G7 - F
Verse: Fast Fingerpicking G-B-E (A between the Chords)
Chorus: Strum A than G-B-E (Listen to the Song)

Verse:
Am
No more tears, my heart is dry
C
 I don't laugh and I don't cry
G7
I don't think about you all the time
F
But when I do I wonder why

You have to go out of my door
And leave just like you did before
I know I said that I was sure
But rich men can't imagine poor.

Chorus:
Am C
One day baby, we'll be old
                   G7
 Oh baby, we'll be old
                              F
And think of all the stories that we could have told

Verse:
Little me and little you
Kept doing all the things they do
They never really think it through
Like I can never think you're true

Here I go again the blame
The guilt, the pain, the hurt, the shame
The founding fathers of our plane
That's stuck in heavy clouds of rain.

Chorus:
One day baby, we'll be old
 Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told.

  D Am7 Em7
Old man take a look at my life I'm a lot like you.

  D Am7 Em7
I need someone to love me the whole day through.

  D Am7 Em7
Ah, one look in my eyes and you can tell that's true.

  D F C G
  D F C F

2nd Verse:
Lullabys, look in your eyes, run around the same old town.
Doesn't mean that much to me to mean that much to you.
I've been first and last, look at how the time goes past.
But I'm all alone alone at last, rolling home to you.

(repeat chorus and go immediately into intro again
but on the last "you were" finish as below...)

D F C G D
you were.

About that time when I wrote (Heart of Gold), and I was touring, I had also — just, you know, being a rich hippie for the first time — I had purchased a ranch, and I still live there today. And there was a couple living on it that were the caretakers, an old gentleman named Louis Avila and his wife Clara. And there was this old blue Jeep there, and Louis took me for a ride in this blue Jeep. He gets me up there on the top side of the place, and there’s this lake up there that fed all the pastures, and he says, “Well, tell me, how does a young man like yourself have enough money to buy a place like this?” And I said, “Well, just lucky, Louie, just real lucky.” And he said, “Well, that’s the darndest thing I ever heard.” And I wrote this song for him.

Here’s Low by Cracker (off the album Kerosen Hat), a song that I have played over and over when I was at college. It used to be my driving song : I’d pop that CD in, turn the volume up and just drive the night away with no particular destination.

In that sense, I identify a lot with Nick Carraway, the character who narrates the Great Gatsby.

Lyrics
==============

Sometimes I wanna take you down
Sometimes I wanna get you low
Brush your hair back from your eyes
Take you down let the river flow

Sometimes i go and walk the streets
behind a green sheet of glass
A million miles below the streets
A million miles, a million miles

D C E G
Being with you girl like being low
hey hey hey like being stoned
Being with you girl like being low
hey hey hey like being stoned

A million poppies gonna make me sleep
But just one rose that knows your name
The fruit is rusting on the vine
The fruit is calling from the trees

Hey hey dont you wanna go down
Like some disgraced cosmonaut
A million miles below the streets
A million miles a million miles

(chorus)

[solo]

Blue blue is the sun
Brown brown is the sky
Green green are her eyes
A million miles a million miles

Hey hey don't you wanna go down
Like some displaced cosmonaut
A million miles below the streets
A million miles a million miles

(chorus)

We are all drifters.

More : Cracker.

They get lost and out of time
I should've seen it glow
But everybody knows
That a broken heart is blind

J’adore cette voix rock.
