Spacehog est un groupe de rock anglais qui s’est formé à New York en 1994, bien que tous ses membres viennent de Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Ils ont été influencés par David Bowie, Queen, T.Rex et ont ouvert pour Pearl Jam, Supergrass, Oasis et The Black Crowes. Le chanteur Royston Langdon s’est marié avec Liv Tyler (fille de Steven Tyler, frontman d’Aerosmith) en 2005 mais ils se sont séparés en 2008.
La chanson la plus connue du groupe est très certainement “In the Meantime” :
Cela s’écoute très bien et c’est à retrouver sur l’album Resident Alien (1996).
Pour mettre un peu d’ambiance en cette fin d’année, je vous propose Con Bro Chill – un groupe de power party pop assez déluré qui n’est pas sans rappeler LMFAO (mais en mieux), OK GO et Freddy Mercury.

Cassette Kids est un groupe formé à Sydney en 2007.
Anciennement connu sous le nom Casa Del Disco, le groupe change son nom pour Cassette Kids car tous les membres du groupe sont nés dans les années 80 et ils pouvaient tous se souvenir de la première cassette qu’ils avaient eu entre les mains à l’époque mais pas du nom de leur premier CD.
We Are Augustines est un groupe de rock américain, fondé en 2010 et basé à Brooklyn (New York), composé du guitariste Billy McCarthy, du bassiste Eric Sanderson et du batteur Rob Allen.

Johnny Marr (de son vrai nom John Martin Maher) est un musicien anglais né à Manchester. Guitariste, compositeur, mais également clavieriste, harmoniciste et chanteur, il est surtout connu pour son rôle de compositeur au sein du groupe culte des années 1980 : The Smiths.
Son jeu de guitare créatif, mélodique et harmonieux en a fait une référence pour toute une génération de musiciens anglo-saxons, notamment le Mancunien Noel Gallagher (Oasis) ou John Squire (Stone Roses).

“It was it the very first date of Johnny’s US tour with the Healers, the Coachella gig was the next day .
When we first met, i immediately felt the calmness and simplicity of Johnny and I loved the fact that the ‘legendary guitarist’ was actually a real down to earth person… which to me gave the song an even more raw honesty.
I felt that the video should convey that, hence, the portrait concept. Johnny was willing to do whatever was necessary to get the job done for the video… but he actually didn’t need to do more than one take because he nailed it. Johnny just being Johnny.
We framed the shot like a portrait of his daily life. The rest of the action in the video , the doors opening and closing, the shots of Sunset Blvd through the door, the people in the reflections sound checking for the evening gig at the Viper Room, was totally unplanned and natural. Those were really his roadies setting up… no hired extras.
The video was shot in all one-take and intentionally camera choreographed to be honest and subtle.”

C’est super facile à jouer à la guitare, il faut juste maitriser l’enchaînement un peu syncopé des accords.
Par contre, les paroles ahem… c’est légèrement Bowling for Columbine!
