Passage en revue des derniers films visionnés

Allez, cela fait un bout de temps que je n’ai pas écrit à propos des films que j’ai regardé dernièrement. Commençons l’un des plus mièvres : Scary Movie 3. Ce n’est pas vraiment le genre de film que je regarde consciemment mais il s’avère que j’étais dans la pièce où il passait. Le film s’attache cette fois à parodier The Ring mais avec beaucoup moins de succès que dans les deux premiers opus. Si on vous donne le choix entre ce film là et un autre, prenez l’autre. Vraiment.

Toujours dans le registre ‘frissons’, je vous conseille également Wolf Creek dont l’action se passe dans l’outback autralien. Je dois avouer que j’ai rarement été aussi tendu en regardant un film et je crois que je ne suis pas prêt de l’oublier ! A voir à plusieurs de préférence.

The Island, très bon film de science-fiction avec Ewan McGregor et Scarlett Johansson sur le thème du clonage humain et des expériences génétiques. A relier avec Gattaca ou Aeon Flux avec Charlize Theron, que j’ai également eu la chance de regarder ce wwek-end. Le scénario d’Aeon Flux est un peu léger, par contre les cabrioles de Charlize sont assez jolies à regarder… Des deux, je conseillerai donc The Island.

Autre film de SF : Immortel avec pas mal de scène en image de synthèses – les décors sont vraiment magnifiques et sont signés Enki Bilal.

Raging Bull. Si vous n’avez pas vu ce film, je vous conseille de le voir au plus vite et en version originale si vous le pouvez. Robert de Niro y incarne le boxeur Jake La Motta, célèbre boxeur des années 1940. Le film a été tourné en noir et blanc par Martin Scorsese et compte pour moi parmi ses meilleurs films, à classer entre Taxi Driver et GoodFellas. Un must.

Jake La Motta : Raging Bull’s opening speech

In voice-over, Jake La Motta (Robert De Niro) speaks, as the film cuts to La Motta, alone in his dressing room where he rehearses for his nightclub appearance reciting bits of Shakespearean tragedy, wearing a tuxedo and open shirt.

His fantasy of disrobing in the ring presents the film’s recurrent theme of sexual anxiety, violence, fear, and confusion :

I remember those cheers
They still ring in my ears
And for years they’ll remain in my thoughts
Cuz one night I took off my robe
And what’d I do
I forgot to wear shorts.
I recall every fall, every hook, every jab
The worst way a guy could get rid of his flab
As you know, my life was a jab…

When I delve into Shakespeare

I haven’t had a winner in six months (he lights his cigar)…
