The 12th fret scratchy sound is produced by quickly picking/strumming
the natural harmonics on the 12th fret. This is what it sounds like to me.
It may also be the 12th fret fretted and some right hand muting but, I don't
think so. In the solo, I've seen Alex do "one" long pickslide and not two.
It's two in this studio version.
